Morning Devotion: Read Matthew 12

Matthew 12:40  For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Jesus was removed from the cross because of the Sabbath. The Sabbath spoken of was not the normal Saturday Sabbath but the High Sabbath preceding the Passover. That occurred on Thursday that year.

John 19:31  The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. 32  Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. 33  But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: 34  But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. 35  And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. 36  For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. 37  And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

Do the math; If Jesus was buried on Friday He would be in the ground for only a day and a half or two days at the most. Somebody has slipped in a misnomer and the world believes it.

The idea that a lie has been perpetrated begs the question; what else are you being taught that is not truth?

John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

God the Father said listen to Jesus. Luke 9:34  While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud. 35  And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

John 3:35  The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. 36  He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

If Jesus said it, it is true. Jesus said that His words are life.

Jesus said in John 6:63  β€œIt is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

The choice is still yours,
