Morning. Devotion: "SEVEN SAYINGS FROM THE CROSS "
As we look forward to celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, It would do us well to contemplate these seven sayings of Jesus.
1. " FATHER FORGIVE THEM THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO.”
Luke 23:34 (Jesus taught forgiveness for those who crucified Him)
2. " TODAY SHALT THOU BE WITH ME IN PARADISE.”
Luke 23:43 (Jesus saved the dying thief who trusted Him.
3. " WOMAN, BEHOLD THY SON, SON, BEHOLD THY MOTHER.”
John 19:27 (Jesus cared for His mother and provided for her.)
4. " MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAST THOU FORSAKEN ME.”
Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34 (Jesus suffered great agony when He was separated from God because of the sins laid upon Him, your sins and my sins)
5. " I THIRST.” John 19:28 (Jesus was truly 100% man and100% God.)
6. " IT IS FINISHED.” John 19:30 (Jesus accomplished the perfect will of God in paying for the sins of the whole world.)
7. " FATHER INTO THY HANDS, I COMMEND MY SPIRIT.”
Luke 23:46 (Jesus completely trusted in the LORD GOD.)
Jesus died proving the Love of God as He suffered paying the sin debt for every soul upon this earth. He rose from the dead proving He is God exercising the very power of God. His resurrection and life and is the very reason why we, as believers, know He will raise us up in the last day.
John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Would you trust in the Lord Jesus Christ to save your soul?
Christian, would you live for the Lord Jesus Christ who saved your soul?
The choice is still yours,
