Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 27:19 As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.
The mirror of water clear and still reflects the face of man as he gazes into it. Water being used as a mirror is one of the oldest types of reflection ever used.
Thus it is with man and his heart which answers to another man. Men understand men, women understand each other. Because of that basic knowledge God can faithfully say, man answers to man for he can see the heart of another man.
Basically men understand men and the way they think and the things they do.
Basically women understand women and the way they think and the things they do. It is in their nature.
1Corinthians 2:11a For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?
Why does God place this verse in the proverbs? I would dare say that God does so that you and I might not think himself above another nor elevate ourselves our compare our selves to be better or greater or more important than another man. After all, we were all made from the same material, dirt
Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Let us be mindful that God who formed man, knows the creature He made. He knows man intrinsically. He knows your thoughts, intents, motives, desires, attitudes; He knows everything about you.
While man may understand one another, God knows each and every heart of each and every man.
1Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Psalm 44:21 Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
Today, pray and ask the Lord to help you be honest and forthright with your fellow man. Give him what he needs most, give him Jesus.
Christian, you know what your brother or sister needs.
