Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverb 13:9 The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
The light of the world is Jesus. There is a light the lights every man that comes into this world.
Speaking about Jesus John 1:9 says: “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.”
When you were born God allowed the light to shine at the moment of conception. It’s a proven fact that the Zinc elements, at conception create a light which may last for several minutes. God gave the light of physical life.
He also gives us the light of eternal salvation and that may friend is what rejoices the heart.
John 12:36a While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light.
Ephesians 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
1Thessalonians 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Luke 10:20 … rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
The believer, the child of light rejoices because we have the eternal light and our names are written in heaven in the lambs book of life. No one enters into heaven whose names is not on the lambs book of life.
Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
Proverb 13:9 The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
The light of the righteous rejoiceth in the fact of both the light of physical light of life and the eternal light of life.
The wicked does not have the eternal light, consequently, in the end, his physical light will be extinguished.
You must be born again. You must have the second light of Jesus to go to heaven. There is no other way.
John 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
You must have the second birth to rejoice in the light of life.
John 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
The principle of the two births are recorded in John. The physical birth which is the water birth. (Every child is born of water from the mother’s womb, the embryonic sack.) Then there is the spiritual birth which only comes by trusting in Jesus Christ.
John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (Physical birth and spiritual birth are both mentioned.)
John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
“Marvel not” because the logic is very simple, physical birth and spiritual birth. Both come from Jesus. The second birth is by choice.
You can reject and forgo the light of eternal life and have no rejoicing in the end or you can accept the word of God.
Proverb 13:13 Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.
The choice is still yours,
