Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 26:10 The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.
The great God, our God, our heavenly Father rewards all men according to their deeds.
The believer’s deeds start with salvation in Christ Jesus and are rewarded as such. For without Christ all of man’s deeds are corrupt. The word of God tells us that we must be perfect even as our heavenly Father is perfect. That cannot happen us one is made perfect (righteous) in Christ Jesus. Outside of that perfect relationship is the fool and a transgressor and their reward awaits.
Psalm 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Praise God, the believer and his deeds (when living for the Lord) is rewarded in the Lord as well.
1Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
My dear Christian friend, build your reward on the foundation of the Lord Jesus Christ. Live for Him and do good. Your reward awaits as well.
My unsaved friend, your eternal destiny can be changed in the Lord Jesus Christ. He loves you and desires reward everyone who is born again.
1John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
