Morning Devotion: Read Exodus
Exodus 5:22 And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?23 For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.
Exodus 6:1 Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land. 2 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: 3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. 4 And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers. 5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.
After the leaders of Israel cam to Moses and complaining about the extra hardship placed upon them, they then cursed Moses with the judgment of God. They had no idea what the judgment of God was nor what it was about to do with Pharaoh.
Moses, being concerned over he whole thing went directly to the LORD. (Going to the LORD should always be our first step in any situation of life.) He asks God why He is allowing the suffering of the people?
Moses makes a statement to the LORD in Exodus 5:23 For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.
Basically he says; Since I came here the people have suffered and you have done nothing.
My friend, God is always working on your behalf, the timing may not be what we desire but the method and the outcome will be exactly right for it is of God.
The LORD answers Moses and says I’m just getting started. When It’s over Pharaoh will not only let the people go, he will drive them out with a strong hand.
Exodus 6:1 Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.
God established a covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that He would give them the land of Canaan. He was making sure on His promise.
Exodus 6:2 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: 3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. 4 And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers. 5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.
God will never forget His covenant with Israel and will never forget His covenant with you.
He wants to deliver you out of the bondage of sin and corruption and death.
Romans 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Hebrews 2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Hebrew 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Would you be a part of God’s promise and let Jesus save your soul? Would you be a part of God’s promise and let God direct your life?
Things may seem difficult for now but God is working in your life. Don’t be stressed and don’t give up. Don’t get discouraged in the process.
1Peter 1:6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
The choice is still yours,
