Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs

Proverbs 24:13  My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: 14  So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

The knowledge of wisdom is much different than normal wisdom; the knowledge of wisdom excels in its benefits. There is an expectation with godly wisdom, a future to look forward to.

For the born again believer the knowledge of wisdom is Christ Jesus and the future is our relationship with Jesus forever.

Peter has much to say about this type of knowledge, it is a knowledge the worldly man does not have.

2Peter 1:2  Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

2Peter 1:5  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6  And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

2Peter 1:8  For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2Peter 3:18  But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Proverbs 24:13  My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: 14  So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

To the born again believer the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is good and sweet to the taste.

Psalm 119:103  How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

As you begin this week, do so with the sweet communion with God. Let His word be sweet to your palate and let your prayers be sweet to the Lord.

Psalm 104:34  My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.

The knowledge of wisdom is a sweet thing to those who have it. My believing brother and sister, seek the sweetness of the Lord and the refreshing knowledge He provides; there is great reward and expectation in doing so.

Proverbs 24:13  My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: 14  So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

The choice is still yours,

Pastor Cook
