Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 25:13 As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters.
The cold of snow, not snow, the cold of snow in time of harvest brings a dry and crisp air which is excellent for reaping crops. Often times crops are left out to dry to bring a better market price because they have a lower moister content.
A faithful messenger is the same as he refreshes the soul of those who send him knowing he will accomplish the task given him.
By contrast the unfaithful messenger brings the wrong message and thus brings a non-refreshing damage.
Proverbs 13:17 A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.
Proverbs 26:6 He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.
There is a messenger who is faithful and who has a perfect refreshing message to all who would hear.
The messenger is the Living Word of God and the Message is the Word of God.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Proverbs 25:13 As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters.
The message and the work our great messenger did was refreshing to God the Father.
Isaiah 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Mt friend, my Christian friend, we have a message that we must bring and that we must give. In doing so God is well pleased.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mt dear Christian messenger, have you told anyone about Jesus recently?
Remember, you may be the only Bible anyone ever reads.
The choice is still yours,
Pastor Cook
