Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 23:27 For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit. 28 She also lieth in wait as for a prey, and increaseth the transgressors among men.
Proverbs 6:26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.
Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
Most people know the implications of these passages of scriptures. However, these passages are but the tip of the iceberg when it comes the full meaning. Our Lord takes this idea of whoredoms to a much higher level. He explains that man has gone into whoredoms spiritually.
Israel played the part of a whore when she worshiped idols even though the Lord said: Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Exodus 20:5a Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:
Jeremiah 3:9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
Israel played the part of a whore when she began to live after the ways of other countries who violate the commandments of God.
Ezekiel 16:28 Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.
Ezekiel 20:30 Wherefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye polluted after the manner of your fathers? and commit ye whoredom after their abominations?
In the end times, of which we now live, there is a great whore which deceives the world and will ultimately be judged by God. (God showed this to the Apostle John in the book of Revelation.)
Revelation 17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. 6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
Revelation 19:2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
The above passage, in Revelation speaks of the great whore the catholic church. Read all of chapter 17.
My friend, both physically and spiritually men, and christians live this life of ill repute.
Christians are never to be involved with worshiping false Gods and Idols, yet we see churches filled with such things.
Christians are never to be involved with worldly sacrifice and worldly worship, yet we see such things.
Christians are never to be involved in the great false religion that controls much of the world today. Yet, they are deceived.
2Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
There is nothing wrong with worshiping the Lord in the beauty of holiness, it’s clean, it’s pure and it’s right with God.
Psalm 29:2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
Psalm 96:9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
The choice is still yours,
