Morning Devotion: Read Luke - By, By, to this World
Luke 17:24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day. 25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
Notice the scriptures tell us that before our Lord returns as lighting, there will be a rejection of the Lord. He was and is rejected of men. While people celebrate Christmas and Easter with santa and bunnies, they reject Christ in their daily lives. They reject Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour and live life without Jesus.
Concerning the end time when the Son of Man, who is Jesus, is revealed we will find a great falling away; it will be living life without Christ.
Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
In the days of Noah, they lived life without Christ; in the days of Sodom, they lived life without Christ. They married and were given in marriage, they sold, they planted, they builded, they ate and drank and practiced all the things of life without Christ until it was too late. In Noah’s time the flood came and in Sodom’s time the fire came. In the last time it will be the Lord coming.
Remember, after the Lord placed Noah in the ark and delivered him, the rain fell and the deep was broken up and the earth flooded and everyone except Noah and his family survived.
Remember, in the days of Lot the Lord sent angels to removed Lot and his family before the fire fell. They were placed in a safe place. Only Lot and his two daughters survived. The sad part is that at least two of his other daughters and sons in law rejected and perished in the fire.
Genesis 19:14 And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.
His own family laughed at him just before they perished.
Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
The day of the Son of Man is coming, the signs of the times are ripe just as the scriptures said in our text.
Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
God judged in the days of Noah, He judged in the days of Lot and He will judge again.
Will you go on living life without Jesus? Will you laugh at the warnings?
My friend, will you place your faith and trust in the only one who can save you? Noah was saved, Lot was saved; will you be saved when judgment comes?
Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
The choice is still yours,
