Morning Devotion: Read Luke - The Day of the Lord
Luke 17:31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. 32 Remember Lot's wife. 33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. 34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. 35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
This portion of scripture is not talking about the rapture. It is talking about the time likened to the days of Noah and the days of Sodom. People were marrying and giving in marriage; they were buy-in and selling and eating and drinking just living life, without God. No thought of God, only self.
This portion of scripture is talking about those who were removed when Noah and his family entered the ark. It is not talking about the rapture of the saints which happens before the tribulation. It is talking about the Day of the Lord.
Matthew gives us another view of this great happening.
Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
The flood came and took them all away. In Sodom the rain of fire took them all away. In the end time the lost will be removed by another great judgement of God.
At the end of the tribulation the unsaved non-christian will be removed and the saved will remain.
It is the saved believer that goes into the new millennium with the Lord. The unsaved will never be there to start this glorious time.
We are in the days of Noah; we are at the cusp of the tribulation period and the preceding rapture of the church.
When Jesus returns, at the end of the tribulation, only those who are His will remain. I hope you are a believer and child of God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
Revelation 19:21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
Luke 17:37…Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
Are you ready?
The choice is still yours,
