Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs

Proverbs 30:24  There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise: 25  The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer; 26  The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks; 27  The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands; 28  The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces.

Romans 1:20  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

God’s creation, the earth and all that therein is shows or reveals Himself and His plan of salvation to us.

In our text we see first of all, the ant. The ant gives us clear, clean and certain advice in one word, prepare. Prepare for the future. Are you prepared for the future, for eternity, for where you will spend an eternal existence?

The ant will use the time wisely preparing in the summer when there is good weather and warm ground. They will expand their underground dwelling. They will go forth and find he grain and other types of food to store for the coming winter. From early spring until late fall we see the ants coming the earth, foraging for that which will sustain them in the water months.

This picture is so true spiritually for each and every person. Jesus said in John 12:35  “Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. 36  While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

2Corinthians 6:2  (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

I enjoy canning salsa; each year we buy tomatoes and process them to make enough salsa to last until the next growing season. It is a pleasurable process and the results are enjoyed throughout the winter. We have to obtain the tomatoes when the time is right or we go without.

The ant, by instinct, prepares for their future. If they wait they suffer when times become difficult.

My friend, there is a time to prepare for the future of eternity. It is now. Don’t wait, don’t linger, don’t put it off for it may be too late.

If you desire to be saved and experience the love from God through His Son Jesus Christ you may.

By faith, simply pray this prayer believing with all your heart. "God I know I am a sinner in need of salvation. I now repent of my sin asking you to save me. Please come into my heart and save my soul for I cannot save myself. I now place my faith and trust in Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour whom you have sent."

Please let us know if you have made that decision.

The choice is still yours,

Pastor Cook
