Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs
Proverbs 30:24 There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise: 25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer; 26 The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks; 27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands; 28 The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces.
God’s word carries wonderful advice for all mankind, we saw how the ant gives us good advice of being prepared. Are you prepared for your eternal future? Have you turned to Jesus Christ, God’s dear Son, to save your soul?
Today we see the conies, the are a small rabbit that hides among the rocks. There is good protection from predators in the rocks. Being in the rocks they are afforded a strong safe home for it is very difficult for any predator to dig through rock to get at them.
The above scenario depicts the believer standing, hiding, being secure in the rock the Lord Jesus Christ.
Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Psalm 62:2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
What house are you building? Is your house/life built upon the rock the Lord Jesus Christ?
Jesus said in Matthew chapter seven, wise is the person that builds their life, their house, upon Him.
Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Much like the conies, we are a feeble folk, and if I may say, a fickle folk, for we seem to fall for any trend or doctrine or belief that would destroy us lest we dwell safe in the rock the Lord Jesus Christ.
When Israel was traversing through the wilderness prior to reaching the promised land they had Christ, the rock with them.
1Corinthians 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
My friend are you established on the rock?
If you desire to be saved and be in the eternal safety of the rock the Lord Jesus, you may.
By faith, simply pray this prayer believing with all your heart. "God I know I am a sinner in need of salvation. I now repent of my sin asking you to save me. Please come into my heart and save my soul for I cannot save myself. I now place my faith and trust in Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour whom you have sent."
Please let us know if you have made that decision.
The choice is still yours,
