Morning Devotion: Read Proverbs

Proverbs 29:13  The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both their eyes.

We know that the Lord does lighten the eyes, gives life to all born into this world

John 1:4  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

While all men have the light of natural life most do not have the light of eternal life. That light is in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Jesus said in John 12:46  “I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.”

However, both those who have natural life and those who have eternal life in Christ Jesus eventually meet together. Where is that meeting point?

Proverbs 22:2  The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all.

Ecclesiastes 2:14  The wise man's eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all.

15  Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so it happeneth even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity.

Ecclesiastes 9:2  All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath. 3  This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.

There it is, all men meet together in death. Everyone eventually dies.

Hebrews 9:27  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

However, there is one event that will supersede that event called death, it is called the rapture. The rapture is an event in which the Lord calls his beloved home before the tribulation period. Only those who have internal life, the light of Christ, will be able to participate in the rapture.

1Thessalonians 4:13  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Only those who are born again have the privilege to be in the rapture.

Have you been born again? Have you the light of eternal life?

One day, everyone will meet the Lord. Lost will meet the Lord to condemnation and the saved will meet the Lord in heaven.
